NYU Radio to Air Paul Thomas Interview Today

LOS ANGELES — An interview with director Paul Thomas will air at 4:30 p.m. PST today on the campus radio station for New York University (NYU).

Thomas during a recent visit to New York was invited to WNYU (89.1 FM) to discuss everything from his mainstream career to his new independent adult studio, Paul Thomas Presents and upcoming DVD release “Pervert" through LFP.

The recorded interview will also be archived on the station’s website and blog.

WNYU Citywide hosts Zoe Rosenberg and Luke Green said, “We asked Paul Thomas to be a guest on Citywide because we wanted to provide our listeners with insight into a field we don't often discuss on-air. We were excited to do a show that challenged us, as well as our listeners into stepping out of constructed comfort zones. It's encouraging to see an artist bring such positive sophistication to one of the largest and simultaneously most subaltern aspects of today's media culture.”

The WNYU interview with Thomas will stream online at the same time it is broadcasted on 89.1 FM in N.Y. To listen online, visit WNYU.org.

Thomas remarked, “I was honored to do an interview with NYU radio, as it is one of the leading film schools in the country. Zoe and Luke had some great questions about pornography, and it was a pleasure busting many of the misconceptions. My goal was not to corrupt NYU’s film program, but to let people know about the existing alternatives to the Hollywood machine. Adult movies allow a creative freedom unique to the entertainment industry. My movies like ‘Pervert’ are intense examinations of sexuality, a subject which should never be censored, but often is.”

“Pervert” is the second feature from Paul Thomas Presents. Releasing on DVD Nov. 2, “Pervert” features Bobbi Starr, Samantha Ryan, Lily LaBeau, Krissy Lynn, Sarah Shevon, Otto Bauer, Eric Swiss, Anthony Rosano and Derrick Pierce. The movie is a sexually extreme vision of the deviant behaviors lurking in the back of even the most-normal minds.

“Pervert” includes two stories of regular people taking their sexual desires to the extreme. Bauer plays Doyle, a Peeping Tom obsessed with Joy (LaBeau). Joy likes to play twisted games too, and it’s not long before she has Doyle on all fours begging to be pleased… or punished. He’ll do anything, as long as he has her attention. Swiss is Robin, a lawyer bored with his life — finding adrenaline rushes from mugging strangers and sleeping with prostitutes. While psychologist Marion (Ryan) is supposed to help fix Robin’s abnormal behavior, he ends up pulling her down into his dark world.

Thomas is one of the most prolific directors in adult film history and he says “Pervert” s is unlike anything he has done before.
