AEE Show Report: News from the Floor

LAS VEGAS — The Adult Entertainment Expo kicked off Jan. 5 at the Sands Convention Center. While the first day of the show was billed as “industry only,” plenty of fans wandered the aisles, snapping photos of starlets and collecting autographs.

Adult production studios, toy and novelty makers and distributors showed their wares, with foot traffic tending to flow toward those with scantily clad girls smiling at passers by.

Following are some highlights from the show floor:

  • Adam & Eve announced that it had signed Mari Possa, best known for her work with Seymore Butts, as its newest contract performer, joining Carmen Luvana and Austyn Moore. The one-year deal calls for Possa to make between eight and 12 movies.
  • Japanese movie production company Amorz Entertainment previewed artwork for an upcoming hardcore animated series to be released later this year. The company, which has several live-action lines, has completed animation sequences and is working on audio tracks.
  • Entice.TV announced that it has added content from Pumpkin Pictures, the U.K.’s largest producer of adult entertainment, to its IPTV lineup.
  • Phallix, maker of high-end glass dildos and erotic novelties, introduced its newest spokesmodel, Playboy Playmate Christi Shake.
  • Naughty America showed attendees its soon-to-be-released PC-based lifestyle game, Naughty America: The Game, which allows users in different locations to interact in a Simms-like world of sexual fantasy. The company plans to launch NaughtyAmericatheGame.com, a website where users can access the game, in March.
  • Spice Studios made its official debut. Formerly known as distributor CinemaPlay, the rebranded company now will produce original movies as well as release hardcore DVD versions of movies from its Spice TV network.
  • PolarFrog Digital had its MediaToad Kiosks on display. Designed for the retail marketplace, the kiosks allow customers to choose from thousands of individual hardcore scenes and create their own customized porn DVDs.
