The Colombo Juvenile Court ordered the Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (TRC) to ban 107 porn websites and movies with adult content featuring local men and women.
Last year the TRC blocked 12 websites including RedTube.com. The government also cracked down on all movies labeled as “adults only'’ and added that regulations on programs and publications that include scenes of adult content should be toughened.
The government also intends for advertisers to get approval from the Public Performance Board for advertisements on TV, radio and newspapers in an effort to stop ads created without any standards that are unhealthy for the society, especially for small children.
