Kudéta, Smash Pictures Ink European VOD Distro Deal

ANTWERP, Belgium – VOD company Kudéta announced today that is has secured the VOD rights for the entire catalog of Smash Pictures content produced as of Aug. 1.

The company said the deal includes distribution through subscription VOD, television VOD, pay-per-minute, mobile devices, IPTV, licensing and other digital devices.

Kudéta’s Managing Director Jurgen Claes, said, “We are very pleased with the Smash Pictures catalogue addition to our assortment. This means the creation of new openings for sales throughout the European continent."

He added, "This is a very popular catalog which contains diverse popular genres that can make a substantial difference in revenues for our clients.”

Smash Pictures VP of sales and production Stuart Wall told XBIZ, "We've been close with Amy Lew for the past five years now and I'm so proud of her making that leap on her own with Kudéta. This partnership with Kudéta is going to land our titles on systems we've never been placed before around Belgium. We have some exciting productions in the works and things can only go up hill from here."

Kudéta announced the opening of its U.S. office in Sherman Oaks, Calif. last June.

The new operation is being helmed by managing partner, Amy Lew, who formerly held the position of vice president of acquisitions and licensing for Pulse Distribution and also worked for Coastline Licensing and Cable Entertainment Distribution.
