Lia was best known for her solo site Lia19 before she signed on to make films.
"I had a blast working on the movie and it was fascinating for me to learn how the adult online business was started and developed," Lia said. "I think my own experiences in the Internet business and more recently making movies like 'Lia's First Time' and 'The Rush' for Vivid helped me a lot. “
She added, “As we were making the movie I was asked to become a consultant to actress Laura Ramsey, who plays the love interest, and taught her some of the things she needed to know about the adult industry from my own background."
"Middle Men" was inspired by the true story of how the porn industry realized the huge money-making potential of the Internet in 1995.
The cast includes businessman Jack Harris (played by Luke Wilson) who meets up with Wayne Beering (Giovanni Ribisi) and Buck Dolby (Gabriel Macht). Jack gets involved not just with the new business, but also with a beautiful porn star. The FBI also plays a role in the film as Harris rakes in millions of dollars and becomes one of the first wealthy porn entrepreneurs.
The movie was directed by George Gallo and written by Gallo and Andy Weiss for Oxymoron Entertainment.
In addition to Ramsey, other cast members include Jacinda Barrett, Terry Crews, Rade Sherbedgia, Kevin Pollak and James Caan.
