HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Stars and industry pros from all corners of adult honored their own at the Highlands nightclub last evening as the X-Rated Critics Organization (XRCO) celebrated its 26th Annual Awards show.
One of the big winners was show presenter and gonzo star Bobbi Starr who picked up two honors for Superslut (which she also won last year) and Orgasmic Oralist.
Other trophies went to Elegant Angel, X-Play, LFP Video and Wicked Pictures all copping multiple studio awards. There was even a tie for Best POV movie.
Starr said she loves XRCO because it offers a service that supports the stars. The performer jumped up and down on receiving her second XRCO plaque. "I never thought I'd win, no less two awards!," she exclaimed.
Show organizer Dirty Bob said, “The XRCO Awards Shows are unique in that, being industry-only, it is strictly an industry-based event rather than like all of the others which are mostly fan-based. In other words, this was a party for the industry where (once beyond the Red Carpet are, naturally) they can relax, be themselves, and hang out and enjoy the evening without having to put on a public face."
He added, "Our co-hosts (Sean Michaels, Lisa Ann, & Nikki Benz) were an added draw and were hand picked for their industry appeal and popularity. The trophy girls (Chanel Preston and Angel Vain) kept things lively and fun. A thanks to all of the X-Rated critics out there who make this event, and the XRCO, still a commanding presence after 26 years!"
Industry execs also joined the stars for this year's party.
"Rarely do you get the opportunity to attend an event with such a high saturation of leading adult entertainment performers," said Alec Helmy, XBIZ President and Publisher. "It's great to see the community come together to acknowledge each other's successes. Congratulations to all the winners and nominees."
Adult entertainment superstars Nikki Benz and Lisa Ann joined the legendary swordsman Sean Michaels on stage to host this year’s gala event.
Benz commented, "I'm honored to have been picked as a co-host for the 26th Annual XRCO Awards. Especially to be hosting alongside such legends as Lisa Ann and Sean Michaels. This was the best XRCO show as far as I can recall! Its' really exciting for me to be a co-host. This year has started out with a bang for me and it's only getting bigger and brighter!"
Another winner, legend Tom Byron said the win for his "Seasoned Players" title is getting him to think that he has a talent for hosting. "This win is great and makes me realize I'm a good conversationalist and I think people are into hearing about the veterans. Like I have a history with Kelly Nichols that I should parley into something."
Fellow veteran Brad Armstrong who accepted for Wicked's Best Epic "2040" win told XBIZ that the award makes him more confident about high-end productions and that Wicked's "big" movie of the year is in the pre-production phase and an announcement is only days away.
