Girlfriends Films Goes Glam With ‘Pin-up Girls’ Series

RESEDA, Calif. — Girlfriends Films turns back the clock to the 1950s for the glamorous new series, “Pin-up Girls,” the company’s most ambitious project, and the debut volume of which spent a year in pre-production.

The idea for the series came from the Girlfriends Films message board where fans started a thread requesting a movie centered on a lingerie store. When the company couldn’t find a suitable authentic location, the plot for “Pin-up Girls” was hatched.

Set in a period when Betty Page became an erotic idol, the movie’s story transports the viewer to the ’50s and on a group of lingerie models who start taking risqué photos and 8mm footage of themselves to sell through ads in “girly magazines.” Before the theater and VCR, this was one of the earliest — and certainly more innocent — forms of commercial pornography.

Girlfriends Films went into painstaking detail to create authenticity from the wardrobe to picking the right performers with no implants or tattoos.

“Nearly all of the wardrobe for ‘Pin-up Girls’ was acquired through eBay auctions, with most of the focus being on sexy lingerie — bullet bras, panties, garter belts, girdles, corsets, slips and shoes,” Girlfriends Films President Dan O’Connell said. “Given the variety of sizes of the models, hundreds of pieces had to be purchased.

“Thousands of 1950s photos were studied to make sure that we would include only period-perfect items in ‘Pin-up Girls.’ An assortment of Sears and Montgomery-Ward catalogs from the 1950s were studied in order to help select the exact year to replicate, and also helped us in deciding on our eBay purchases. This is by far the most ambitious movie project we’ve ever undertaken.”

The star of “Pin-up Girls” is Girlfriends’ contract star RayVeness who plays the part of an entrepreneurial fashion model that recruits fellow models into her scheme of selling sexy erotica. The series follows the girls as they begin various lesbian affairs and romances.

“Pin-up Girls” also features Zoe Britton, Victoria White, Ashlyn Rae, Kimberly Kane, Avy Scott, Faye Reagan, Evie Delatosso and Girlfriends Films’ contract girl Prinzzess.

The first episode of “Pin-up Girls” streets this month. To order, call Moose at (818) 881-5015, or email moose@girlfriendsfilmswholesale.com.
