Nectar Gets New Distro Through Pulse

CANOGA PARK, Calif. — The recently sold Nectar Entertainment has inked a new distribution deal with Pulse Distribution. The production company was sold to ZBVentures earlier this month.

“We are excited to have Pulse on board as part of the relaunch of the Nectar line of films,” said ZBVentures Managing Partner Charlie Zsebik. “They are a powerhouse, simply put.”

Under the terms of the deal, Pulse will distribute the full catalog of Nectar films including its First Strike and Maximus labels.

“The quality and production value of the three Nectar lines speaks for itself,” Pulse’s Mark Hamilton told XBIZ. “ We are excited to get their product out there as well as all the new and exciting films they currently have in the works.”

The new ownership of Nectar has brought back on former company employee Jason Heart as head of development. Heart, who left the company in 2007, worked with Nectar under its previous owners as production supervisor and director of sales.

“I’m very excited to be a part of the new Nectar team and using my knowledge of our three amazing lines of films to help bring Nectar to the next level,” Heart told XBIZ. “I’m looking forward to working closely with Charlie in developing new and amazing opportunities for the company.”

Zsebik told XBIZ that directors Paulo Desanto and Eric Avalon will stay on after his group’s purchase of the company.

“We are thrilled that directors Eric Avalon and Paulo Desanto have chosen to stay on board with our purchase of the company,” Zsebik said. “Their films were a huge deciding factor in our decision to move forward with acquiring Nectar and we look forward to many more of their award-winning films.”
