Xplor Media will continue to distribute the series under the Limelight brand name in order to capitalize on the existing market recognition of the award-nominated series.
“Our goal is to use the [Limelight] brand name to feature high-quality amateur productions as a way to put our best Homegrown material in the limelight,” Xplor owner Moffitt said.
Moffitt added that the purchase of Limelight's content will help to bolster Homegrown's affilitate program, which is currently being retooled.
"Limelight adds new fresh faces and content updates for HomegrownVideo.com," Moffitt told XBiz. "We do several [updates] each day. We need more content in preparation for the revshare option we are going to add to the revamped HomegrownCash.com program we are almost done with."
Homegrown Video features homemade amateur adult entertainment sent in by people all over the world and has been profiled extensively in the mainstream media, including television coverage on ABC’s 20/20 to CNN’s Larry King Live.
The purchase includes the entire edited series of 13 original Limelight video titles as well as all the related raw footage from 55 scenes, including all photographic stills.
Limelight is nominated for best amateur release and best amateur series for the 2006 AVN Awards and also garnered numerous nominations at the 2005 AVN Awards show.
Additionally, Xplor has taken over the web-related properties at the domains LimelightGirls.com, LustinVegas.com, LimelightProductions.tv and LimelightVOD.com, the last of which directs users to a Limelight video section of Hotmovies.com.
