Pornoob Ends Private Beta Testing

NEW YORK — Adult social network Pornoob.com has opened its doors.

The fledgling site has left private beta and is now open for anyone to join. The site’s founders are pitching it as a “missing link” in adult entertainment that will help connect stars with fans. Although there are plenty of adult networking sites out there, Pornoob Co-founder and Creative Director Joel Theard said his site stands out.

“When you have a massive amount of free content without the representation of the producer or talent, surfers become completely disconnected,” he said. “Out of touch with the talent performing or the company who created it, the solution isn’t just about including a skimpy ad next to the content with hopes to correlate the two, but an entire profile encompassing it. If you can connect everything together — branding, fan base and interaction — interest increases tremendously.”

The site combines a host of features from TGPs, MGPs, as well as several of the most popular social networking powerhouses. Default profile pages are indistinguishable from Twitter pages, right down to the green alert box in the upper-right corner that invites users to join.

"Pornoob will help stars and studios reach fans by using personalized profiles, with the ability to set their status', upload photos, videos, create their network of friends/fans and communicate via comments and private messaging," Theofanis, Pornoob's cofounder and technology director said. "We combine this with niche galleries and user-created content like blogs, events and classifieds."

Pornoob also offers standard privacy controls for performers and studios who want to protect themselves or their brands.

"If you don't want other studios talking to your models on Pornoob, it's as simple as just disallowing the privilege, as well as any other profile type," Theard said. "Studios concerned about branding can apply the same profile theme to all of its models with a click of the mouse."

As a part of the end of beta-testing, Pornoob officials are offering discounted, customized ad campaigns.
