Evil Angel is making its trailers available in QuickTime and Windows Media formats, as well as the iPod’s MPEG-4 format. The Evil Angel “Pudcasts” are available on the company’s website and also will be available soon through Apple’s iTunes sites.
"We believe that allowing people to subscribe to our trailer updates will keep them excited about our new titles," Evil Angel spokesperson Tricia Devereaux told XBiz. "The ease of downloading from iTunes and then watching the trailers offline is a huge advantage."
Viewers can subscribe to Pudcasts and receive automatic updates every time a new trailer becomes available. Trailers can be downloaded and stored on the user’s computer, then viewed on the computer in QuickTime or copied to Video iPod for on-the-go viewing.
The company currently has 30 trailers in its subscriber library, and one or two new trailers will be added each week as they become available.
In the near future, subscribers will be able to purchase whole scenes and/or movies from Evil Angel stable of contract directors. Up first on the roster will be the Jamie Huxley’s scene from Jonni Darkko’s “Trophy Whores” and the single, 100-minute scene “Buttman’s Ass Adoro.”
Apple’s iPod music player currently owns about 74 percent of the portable MP3 market, with roughly 27 million units sold in the country to date. The company also expects to dominate the portable video market and seems to be embracing adult entertainment, at least for the moment — and adult companies are returning the love.
In October, Sin City launched a new site dedicated solely to high-resolution video content for PlayStation Portable (PSP) and iPod users. Sincity2go.com features both full-length and promotional trailers offered up in 16 million colors. The company offers new trailers each week from either its Sin City or Mayhem lines.
Earlier this month, gay porn production company Flava Works, well known for its African American and Latino content, also joined the mobile video revolution by releasing a host of iPod-compatible movie trailers.
Xobile.com, the mobile division of AEBN, launched PornMyPortable system, offering customers five-minute adult clips at 99 cents per mini movie.
