Tommy Kaye has worked as a director on adult features along with launching his own website, TommyKaye.com, last year.
The chieftains of both companies, Tommy Kaye's Thomas Koveleskie and Alankau's Oleg Kaushansky both come from Russia. Alankau Media maintains offices in St. Petersburg, San Francisco and Boston. The company starts out with an existing catalog of more than 150 titles.
Alter Ego Media's professed mission will be to produce "higher-end" adult movies, as well as sexy mainstream fare. Company representatives said they're currently working on a "pseudo-documentary" — whatever that is — about Russian politics and the development of the sex industry in the years since the fall of communism.
"We are going back at the end of June to finish up the project," Koveleskie said. "This film is both very informative and sexy, and it will appeal to a wide audience. It will be released in both soft and hard versions."
