Private to Launch New UK Adult PPV Channel

BARCELONA, Spain — Private Media Group has signed a binding letter of intent with RHF Productions to distribute a new Private-branded adult pay-per-view television channel in the United Kingdom.

The channel will replace the company’s Private Blue channel, available in the United Kingdom since 2000. Scheduled to launch in January 2006, it will be broadcast over the BSkyB Digital Satellite Platform and reach more than 7.4 million households, mostly in England and Ireland.

Private CEO Berth Milton said the company decided to replace Private Blue with the new channel in order to take advantage of RHF Productions’ advanced technical expertise and extensive customer base.

"Our Private Blue channel, a [mainstay] in adult entertainment in the United Kingdom since its launch in 2000, now enters a new phase offering viewers -- new and old -- the latest trends as well as our renowned theme blockbusters,” Milton said. “The Private Blue channel will benefit from RHF Productions' extensive editing and packaging skills together with the marketing opportunities available to the company."

Peter Farrell, editorial director for RHF Productions, added, "This is the coming together of two industry experts that share the vision of quality and service, and we look forward to working together with the Private team, confident that customers throughout the United Kingdom will be delighted with the results."

RHF Productions is a member of the Portland Television Group of global media and communications companies.

Portland Television Group has operations in London and the Channel Islands, including two studios and twelve editing suites. The company’s programming lineup focuses largely on 11 adult channels, including televisionX, the most popular adult PPV network in the United Kingdom.
