Colt Teams With Cal Exotics for Men’s Underwear Line

SAN FRANCISCO — Gay adult studio Colt later this month will release Colt Basics, an underwear line developed in partnership with adult novelty maker California Exotic Novelties.

The line will be available later online through both ColtBasics.com and CalExotics.com. The company also is working on distribution deals with retail stores worldwide.

The upcoming debut of Colt Basics is the latest move in Colt’s continuing drive to cross over into mainstream markets. In August, several Virgin Megastores retail locations introduced Colt Corners, which are branded kiosks featuring Colt movies and other products.

Colt President and Creative Director John Rutherford told XBiz that the company is pursuing a dream of having “one-stop-shopping” areas featuring the company’s wide range of both adult-themed and mainstream merchandise at major retailers across the United States and Europe.

“We have Colt Corners going into more than 15 stores,” Rutherford said, adding that the displays are currently only going into “blue states” — those that tend to vote Democrat and are politically less conservative than the opposing “red states.”

Colt Basics will be available in four styles: White Racer Thong, Black Racer Brief, Red Boxer Brief and the Black Mesh Brief. All four styles will come in small, medium and large sizes.

To help promote the line overseas, Colt Men Chris Wide, Carlo Masi, Luke Garrett and Gage Weston will be making live appearances on a European tour throughout October.

In addition to adult movies and the Colt Basics underwear line, the company also offers a full line of branded sex toys, sexual enhancement products and leather goods.
