Mainstream Singer-Composer Scores 'Boy Country'

SAN FRANCISCO — All-male production house Colt Studio Group tapped a mainstream musician to compose the score for the recent "Boy Country" on its Buckshot Productions subsidiary label.

Musician, singer and composer Ron Perkov wrote the score for the twink-centric feature.

It's not the first time Colt Studio has looked outside the porn world for an adult film soundtrack. In 2004, the company hired mainstream composer Nicholas Pavkovic to score parts of their cowboy epic "BuckleRoos 1-2."

Perkov has been featured on a number of dance-oriented CD compilations, such as 2007's "Party Groove: One Mighty Weekend, Vol. 2," and has placed a number of singles on the Billboard magazine Hot Dance Club Play chart, including 2008's "I Get Off" and 2007's "Live, Luv, Dance."

Buckshots is bundling Perkov's CD "Intimate Chill-Out" with "Boy Country" when the film is ordered via their official website.

"I enjoyed this experience immensely," he said. "It was my first time doing a soundtrack for a movie and I look forward to doing more. My engineer and I had a great time putting the music to film. I thank Colt Studio Group for the opportunity."

Perkov adapted some of his "Intimate Chill-Out" tracks for the adult film soundtrack. "I took a few songs from the album and changed them around a bit, and of course, I also took out my vocals. It was a challenge creating and changing the music around, but still being able to tie in the CD so that the public will still be able to relate to both the film and the CD."

"I think this DVD will not only have the visuals," he added, "but also a sexy audio that will appeal to all the senses of the body."

"Boy Country" was directed by Kristofer Weston and stars Bobby Clark with supporting players Andrew Blue, Arthur Gordon, Guy Parker, Colton Steele, Trystian Sweet, Matthias Vannelli and David West.
