Hirsch, Asher, Jameson Buy Club

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Vivid CEO Steven Hirsch, Vivid President William Asher and Vivid Superstar Jenna Jameson have all gone in for shares of Babe’s Cabaret in Scottsdale. The adult nightclub has been in the news of late since Jameson’s purchase was made public, but the identity of her partners wasn’t publicly available until recently.

According to paperwork filed with the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control, Hirsch, Asher and Jameson all own quarter shares of the company, while adult-film producer Frank Koretsky owns the remaining 25 percent. The names became public when Jameson filed to change Babe's liquor license to reflect the new owners.

The fact that the president and CEO of one of the largest porn producers in the world have teamed up with arguably the most popular adult star in the world may shed light on why many city officials in Scottsdale have fought so hard to shut Babe’s down.

Although the mayor and City Council have said they are merely trying to “clean up” the city, enforcement of the city’s adult business regulations was increased shortly after Jameson’s purchase became known.

Nonetheless, because Jameson’s original purchase was uncontested by the city, her petition to change the liquor license over to reflect the new owners will likely be approved by the City Council, which will hear her request Nov. 1.

Connie Padlan, chief customer service officer for Scottsdale, told XBiz there’s very little the City Council can do to stop the request.

“This is very limited,” Padlan said. “We can [only] look at their capability, their reliability or their qualifications to have a liquor license.”
