Playboy TV to Air ‘Vivid Valley’ Series

LOS ANGELES — Playboy TV begins a 13-part documentary series on Saturday that goes behind the doors of Vivid Entertainment.

The weekly series, “Vivid Valley,” takes a peek into the public passions and private lives of Vivid's stars and their boss Steve Hirsch, the 42-year-old who created a successful business using the tactics of the old Hollywood studio system — building a stable of stars under exclusive contract.

“Over the last few years, Steve Hirsch’s Vivid Entertainment has been almost singly responsible for propelling adult entertainment into the mainstream with crossover stars like Jenna Jameson and massive billboards towering over Times Square,” said Mark F. Mauceri, Playboy’s vice president of worldwide programming.

The documentary — produced by Fenton Bailey’s and Randy Barbato’s World of Wonder production studio — also follows the Vivid Girls through their professional and personal relationships on the set and at home, revealing opinions on everything from plastic surgeries, drug abuse and recovery, child-rearing, romance and religion.

Playboy interviews Jenna Jameson, Briana Banks, Sunrise Adams, Mercedez, Tawny Roberts, Savanna Samson, as well as Hirsch and adult film directors Paul “PT” Thomas and Chi Chi LaRue.

“[It’s] sure to entertain and fascinate the uninitiated with its intimate look at the company’s gritty inner workings,” Bailey said.

“Vivid Valley” will be supported with webisodes and podcasts on World of Wonder’s daily blog, WorldofWonder.net.

Based in both Los Angeles and London, World of Wonder recently created and produced the series "Show Biz Moms and Dads" for Bravo, “Transgeneration” for the Sundance Channel and “Movies That Shook The World” for AMC.

“Vivid Valley” premieres Saturday, Oct. 1 (9:30 p.m. PST, 10:30 p.m. PST), and will air each Saturday for 13 episodes.
