Day 1 Special Events Mix Business With Pleasure

WOODLAND HILLS, Calif. — Day one of the XBIZ Conference 2009 offered guests not only stimulating seminars and panels but also plenty of special events to discuss business and socialize.

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., attendees had the ImLive.com Smoking Lounge and Metro Lounge Bar available to them for connecting with others, making deals or relaxing.

The ImLive.com Smoking Lounge area, which will be accessible through tomorrow, is located outside the entrance to the conference.

The Metro Lounge Bar, which provided attendees with a place to retreat and recharge with beers and cocktails, is located in the middle of all the action and also will be open tomorrow.

The day kicked off with Speed Networking V 3.0, presented by Video Secrets — which is also on the bill for tomorrow at 10 a.m. The first-come, first-serve event became crammed with people from all aspects of the industry.

Moderated by Stockroom.com marketing coordinator Casey O’Connell, she said she recognized billing processors, professional dommes, members of the Free Speech Coalition and adult performers as participants of the networking event.

“To see such a colorful selection of people in adult that attended speed networking with such enthusiasm is inspiring to me,” O’Connell said. “It was an honor to be a part of it.”

There was no breaking for lunch during the conference’s full schedule; the Dating Gold Patio BBQ Luncheon kept the business rolling as attendees enjoyed complimentary meals in an outdoor patio setting.

The end of the night brought the Max Payments Welcome Party to the Rack, a bar/pool hall across the street from the Marriot Warner Center, where Steve from Pimp Profits took home an iPod Touch after winning the raffle.

Soon after, the Porn Poker Tournament brought all attendees out to play, where everyone enjoyed the In-N-Out Truck sponsored by CamZ and NETBilling.
