Pure Play Media to Distribute Video-X-Pix

CHATSWORTH, Calif. — Pure Play Media has signed an exclusive distribution deal with classics-specific adult studio Video-X-Pix, which specializes in content from the '70s Golden Age of Porn, 1973-1985.

“Our movies come from a period of big budgets, exotic locations, and premiere parties for new releases," said Steven Morowitz of Video-X-Pix, a second-generation adult entertainment entrepreneur. "If you take the sex out, you have a drama, mystery, comedy, or even a musical left. Some of the talent were really pursuing acting, trying out for off-Broadway plays when they weren’t shooting. We feel our new relationship with Pure Play is a match made in heaven. I love what they do and what they stand for, and respect the gutsy move to go straight to retail.”

The company's films have been converted from their original 35mm format to DVD and feature porn legends including Ron Jeremy, Seka, Vanessa del Rio, Gloria Leonard, Little Oral Annie, Desiree Cousteau, Tina Russell, Annie Sprinkle, Bobby Astyr, Jennifer Welles, Annette Haven and John Holmes.

“This is a great studio that has roots dating back decades, but was resurrected a few years ago," Pure Play CEO Richard Arnold said. "I am very excited about this studio as it gives Pure Play the rights to distribute one of the best classic studios in the business, which just happens to be run by a couple of the best people in the industry.”

Pure Play Media distributes studios including The Score Group, Private Media Group, Homegrown Video, Naughty America and gay division Suite 703, Silver Sinema, Hundies, Asia Bootleg, Swank Digital, Suze Randall, Seymore Butts, Cousin Stevie, Pink Moon, Hellhouse Media, Pink Lotus and Edward James. Pure Play Media’s full product catalog can be found online at PurePlayMedia.com.
