Jack Venice Gets Life Sentence on Rape Conviction

COLFAX, Wash. — Adult performer Jack Venice, who was convicted of rape and burglary charges in Washington in October, was sentenced to life imprisonment on Friday.

Venice, whose real name is Christopher Jack Reid, will be eligible for parole in nine years.

Sentence was passed in Whitman County Superior Court in Colfax, Wash.

Venice, 26, was convicted of raping a sleeping sorority member at a University of Washington sorority house in September 2007.

Another man, Kyle Schott, a 24-year old former University of Washington student, is already serving a reduced sentence for the attack in return for his testimony against Venice.

Reid reportedly told the court he is sorry for what happened to the victim but maintains his innocence. His lawyer plans an appeal.
