Mustang Studios Shines ‘Red Light’

SAN FRANCISCO —Gay adult company Mustang Studios has commenced production on “Red Light,” the second installment in its “Color Box Trilogy” following “Blue Movie,” which drops later this month. The “Blue Movie” directing team of Steve Cruz and Leif Gobo return for “Red Light.”

“As ‘Blue Movie’ paid homage to porn flicks of the ‘70s and ‘80s, ‘Red Light’ will examine another aspect of the sex industry — sex for hire,” the studio announced.

Featured players include Jake Dakota and Josh West as street hustlers; Vince Ferelli as another hustler and Leo Giamani his mark; Diesel Washington as a pimp looking to impart his wisdom to a protégé; and Bruno Bond as an uptight executive who hires Tyler Saint for a bondage session.

The studio said Cruz would pen a “Red Light” production blog similar to the journal entries he wrote about filming “Blue Movie.”

Those production diaries briefly became an Internet sensation earlier this year as they chronicled an amount of backstage chaos: A former employee’s tip allegedly prompted the Los Angeles Police Department vice squad to visit a private location where “Blue Movie” was filming and cite the production company for lacking a filming permit.

“Blue Movie” streets Dec. 23, while “Red Light” is scheduled for a February web/retail release. Wholesale-retail sales are managed by Pulse Distribution.
