Webmaster Access West’s 1st Day Is About Golf, Poker and Party

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. — Opening day at the Webmaster Access West conference started out with golf and will end with poker at the host hotel and a party in West Hollywood.

The day began with a golf tournament in the northern Los Angeles County city of Santa Clarita, with about 60 conference attendees participating. MatrixHD, NETbilling, CamZ, CECash, Mansion Productions, Webquest, Epoch and National Net sponsored the event.

Speaking from the Robinson Ranch Golf Club, where he was still golfing at 4 p.m., NetBilling’s Mitch Farber told XBIZ that the tournament has been going on “without a hitch.”

More than 60 players had signed up for the event, with a $25,000 hole-in-one prize on the table and trophies to boot.

“It’s a great day for webmasters,” Farber said. “The weather is beautiful — it's 75 degrees, perfect golf weather.”

About the only thing lacking on the golf course was anecdotes to tell. “I haven’t heard the stories,” Farber said — but that’s likely to change tonight.

Webmaster Access West’s Opening Night Features Poker, Party

Opening night is shaping up to be one capped with poker and free-flowing alcoholic beverages for Webmaster Access West attendees.

For those not inclined towards poker at the host hotel, Sheraton Universal Hotel, a gay party will take place at a lounge in West Hollywood. Attendees will be shuttled to the venue.

Both events begin at 9 p.m., with poker going on until 1 a.m. The World Famous Porn Poker Tour tournament is free to enter and thousands of dollars and a copy of the Rock Band video game will go to winners.

All of the events require wristbands for entry.

The poker tournament, which will take place inside the East-West Ballroom, is sponsored by CamZ, NETbilling, Dating Gold, Orbitalpay, Too Much Media and CECash.

If poker or the open bar just doesn’t sit well, the alternative for the opening night of the conference is the gay party being at the Boulevard Lounge, 1114 N. Crescent Heights Blvd. in West Hollywood.

A bus will shuttle attendees between the hotel and the lounge beginning at 9:15 p.m. The event was produced by Cybersocket and presented by Epoch.

Stockroom Tour Inspires Attendees

Stockroom opened its doors to conference attendees with a tour and at least one of them — who’s never been there before — was inspired.

“I need to talk to the design team and get an orange-and-black Harley Davidson vest made for me out of Latex,” said Hilda Tuel, partner at iProcessing.

Jenni Dahling of Pkitty, meanwhile, won the dominatrix makeover contest and emerged clad in a leather and latex corset and a little motorcycle hat. With a leather slugger in hand, she walked around and playfully slapped people.

“I feel empowered. Wearing this makes me want to kick some ass,” Dahling said.

The Stockroom tour wouldn’t have been complete without tattooed models decked in Stockroom designs, passing around cocktails and hour d’euvres, while the attendees chatted it up with Mike Herman, Stockroom’s president and CEO Joel Tucker.
