“Nurse Monique” stars adult performer and Thomas favorite Monique Alexander. Monique is a married nurse living in a small town who enjoys the porno series Dr. Dick. After she witnesses her husband “literally fucked to death” — so reads the DVD teaser — over a case of “stolen booty,” Monique packs up and leaves for Pornoland to seek the help of Dr. Dick, played by adult performer Nick Manning.
“This is related to a mainstream movie, ‘Nurse Betty,” Thomas told XBIZ. “I ended up shooting a quirky short hand. It has sort of a nature that seems a bit entertaining and hopefully not exactly a linear story.”
“Nurse Monique” is still unabashedly an adult film, shot in the style that Thomas is known for. Katarina Kat, Lexi Love and Jenna Presley all take part in hardcore scenes with Justin Magnum, Chris Cannon and Manning.
“The story makes the sex better,” Thomas said.
Casting Alexander as the lead was a simple decision for Thomas, who said that since he directs about four productions of this scope per year, he has “to find shortcuts, tricky stylish ways” to make a good movie.
“She can act and I need people who can act,” he said. “She is talented and incredibly cute in a mainstream sort of way.”
Overall, Thomas said is happy with the film, which was released on DVD Wednesday.
“You don’t need to have 16 midgets,” Thomas said. “If it’s a story that entertains and turns you on and if it’s a film that’s well-executed, that’s incredibly unique in today’s market.”
