Private Announces Exclusive European Mobile Deal With 1633 Publishing

BARCELONA, Spain — Private Media Group Inc. has announced an exclusive mobile partnership with French-language magazine publisher and new media company 1633 Publishing. The deal gives 1633 Publishing exclusive on- and off-portal mobile rights for Private content in France, Belgium and Romania.

“We are thrilled to have access to the vast amount of fantastic content owned and produced at an incredible rate by Private and to be able to distribute it on mobile platforms in the territories we’ve been granted," 1633 Publishing CEO Michel Birnbaum said. "It’s an honor and a great challenge."

1633 Publishing distributes adult content through printed and new media channels. Besides mobile distribution, 1633 Publishing will provide off-portal cross promotion through male-oriented magazines, including Playboy, QX, NewLook and Maximal.

“After implementing an aggressive distribution strategy in recent years, Private is now the most-distributed adult mobile brand, with more than 85 network operators in 36 countries. Our objective is now to maximize monetization of our mobile content distribution and drive incremental revenue with strategic partners such as 1633 Publishing," Private Vice President of Sales Tim Clausen said. “1633 Publishing will use Private’s portfolio of high quality content to aggressively drive sales in some of our key European territories.”

Established in 1992 as a book publisher, 1633 Publishing has grown to one of the leading mobile content providers in Europe, and is currently launching its U.S. operation.

Private Media Group is listed on Nasdaq in the U.S. and distributes adult content globally through DVDs, magazines, Internet, television broadcasting, IPTV/VOD and more than 900 million mobile telephones.
