Playboy Digital Adds New Sales VP, Promotes Magazine Executive

NEW YORK — Playboy Enterprises Inc. has added a familiar face to its digital team and promoted a magazine executive to a vice president position.

John Lumpkin joins Playboy Digital as vice president, associate publisher; and Robert Eisenhardt is promoted to vice president, associate publisher for Playboy Magazine.

Lumpkin, who worked at Playboy from 2002-2004, was most recently sales vice president at Heavy.com, which features streaming video content. At Playboy Digital, he will reunite with his former Heavy.com boss, Jimmy Jellinek.

Lumpkin and Eisenhardt will be based in Playboy’s Publishing Group headquarters in New York and will report to Lou Mohn, publisher and general manager of Playboy magazine, the company announced.

"Combining Playboy's publishing and digital groups was a conscious effort to grow our overall audience and to effectively aggregate that audience for our advertising partners," Mohn said in a statement. "John and Rob will work closely together with their teams to create cross-platform sales opportunities and help new and existing advertisers reach the 18- to 34-year-old male demographic."

At Heavy.com, Lumpkin, 32, was senior vice president of sales strategy and partnerships and “consistently exceeded account forecasts and generated more than $2.5 million in new and category-exclusive business,” according to the statement.

Eisenhardt, 47, will oversee the national sales efforts for Playboy in print.

"Playboy's editors are consistently finding new ways to integrate both the print and digital content," Eisenhardt said in a statement. "Working with John, we plan to create the most comprehensive, creative and effective programs for our clients."
