The award was the Critic’s Choice prize and marks the second NightMoves Award earned by the “Brady Bunch” spoof. The first was awarded September 2007 when it earned the NightMoves First Choice Winner.
“That’s two straight years that we won when I was not able to make it to Tampa due to the production of other movies,” said Jeff Mullen of X-Play, the movie’s writer and co-producer. “We are currently putting the finishing touches on our next Brady Bunch adventure called ‘Not the Bradys XXX: Marcia Marcia Marcia’ and I wasn’t able to attend the show but I will make it down to Tampa next year for sure.”
“Not the Bradys XXX” stars Hillary Scott. In the movie, the family faces financial woes and gets put on a budget. The kids take odd jobs to help save their house from bank foreclosure and Marcia applies for a job as a figure model but discovers she’s about to star in a porn movie.
Distributed by Hustler Video, X-Play’s “Not the Bradys” has spawned other parodies including X-Play’s “Not Bewitched XXX.” Fans of the original television shows can visit X-Play’s spoofs at www.sitcums.com.
“ ‘Not Bewitched XXX’ is our best movie yet but it all started with ‘Not the Bradys XXX’ and we are quite happy to win this NightMoves Award,” Mullen concluded.
