At first I wasn’t sure what to expect when watching this parody of Charles Dickens’ classic “Oliver Twist.” But after my initial shock wore off, I realized that this is one funny fucking movie.

The screenplay is pretty intricate. Director Peter Z Pan is able to infuse current situations into the old classic, and it actually works. He doesn’t take the subject matter seriously and neither do his actors.

Little Oliver (played by adorable Dillon Samuels) starts out at the Kathy Lee Gifford Workhouse for Waifs in Dumpwater, Florida. He has just turned 18 and is ready to travel to The Big City to find fame and fortune. The Big City in question is South Beach, and after Oliver boinks Mr. Bumble (Brad Star) for a bus ticket, he’s on his way. He meets the Artful Dodger (hilariously played by Kyros Christian) and Fagin (Jarett Fox), who is a pimp in this version. “You’ve got to suck a penis or two,” he tells the boys before they have a fun threesome. I would be remiss not to mention the campy (over)acting. Harry Beastt’s Bill Sikes and Misty Eyez’s Nancy are too over-the-top and had me peeing myself at how bad/good they were.

It’s certainly a fun, campy movie with some good sex thrown in for measure. Summary: Director Peter Z Pan makes another splash with his retelling of Dickens’ classic. The acting is campy and over-the-top, and the screenplay pokes fun at everything.
