After Kylie Taylor successfully logged onto a poetry website from her abductor’s house, Xavier Von Erck, founder of Perverted-Justice.com, and two assistant administrators for the website tracked the abductor’s IP address to a computer located in Eastern Washington, contacted his service provider and turned all of the information over to police.
Taylor was found Sunday evening in a darkened room filled with video cameras and restraints at the home of 47-year-old Stanley Sadler, father of three, police said.
Sadler was arrested on charges of unlawful imprisonment, child molestation and child rape.
“We are very happy to have been in aid of Kylie and her mother and stunned to have actually accomplished something that the police simply did not, or would not do,” read a statement at the Perverted-Justice website.
According to the statement, among other problems that plagued the investigation, Clark County police failed to perform forensic tests on Taylor’s computer for more than a week after the abduction and never contacted the site that Taylor visited from her abductor’s home.
“We love police here at Perverted-Justice.com, but the investigation by the police in Clark County is easily the most inept, ineffectual and incompetent work we have ever heard of, let alone witnessed,” staff said.
“It's sickening to me to know that she could have been recovered nearly days after she was gone, but it ended up being nearly two weeks or over two weeks,” said Von Erck.
Sgt. Dave Trimble of the Clark County Sheriff’s Department said, “We don't have the resources to do that and we don't have the people who are that knowledgeable who can devote time to that sort of activity.”
