Adult Film Director David Lord Pleads Not Guilty

LOS ANGELES — Adult film director David Lord, who was charged earlier this month in connection with an investigation into an alleged prostitution ring involving Hungarian nationals, pleaded not guilty Monday to visa fraud and perjury charges.

Lord, whose real name is David Allen Crawford, pleaded not guilty along with Agnes Jeges, before U.S. Magistrate Judge Carla Woehrle, who set a Sept. 16 trial date.

Lord and Woehrle’s arrest followed an investigation into a scheme involving Hungarian women hired to work as prostitutes at a Sherman Oaks brothel, authorities said.

Prosecutors allege that Lord and Jeges entered into a sham marriage to enable her to stay in the U.S.

On Jeges' application for permanent resident status, or green card, the pair lied when they said they lived together and that Jeges had never engaged in prostitution, prosecutors allege.

Jeges allegedly worked as a prostitute for Angela Csutai, who is accused of running a prostitution ring from a Sherman Oaks apartment from 2004 to 2006.

Csutai, who pleaded not guilty on July 7 to perjury and visa fraud charges, also is suspected of entering into a sham marriage with a U.S. citizen to get a green card. Her trial date is set for Aug. 26.

The government claims Csutai procured Hungarian women to work at the brothel and then set them up in sham marriages, enabling them to reside in the U.S.

Lord is free on bond.
