Dick Delaware to Fight in Gladiator Challenge

SAN DIEGO — Adult performer Dick Delaware, aka Aaron Brink, will return to professional mixed-martial-arts on Friday, Aug. 20 against Dan Quinn in the Gladiator Challenge at Soboba Casino in San Jacinto, Calif.

The “super-fight” will be contested under special rules. Both fighters have agreed to have the bout decided through only striking; no take-downs or grappling will be allowed which will practically guarantee a brutal stoppage.

“Dan and I are ready to put on a show and someone’s getting knocked out,” said Brink, who will be fighting professionally for the first time since he was defeated by current UFC heavyweight contender Travis Browne on Feb. 21 at the Gladiator Challenge.

A veteran of more than 600 sex scenes in his eight-year career, the 35-year-old Brink is a regular performer for adult companies such as Lethal Hardcore and Combat Zone. His national profile rose considerably last year when he and his wife, performer Cassandra Cruz, were featured on an episode of A&E’s “Intervention.” The controversial TV show profiles individuals whose dependence on drugs and alcohol has brought them to a point of personal crisis.

The episode that chronicled Brink’s substance abuse and subsequent intervention was taped in December 2008. Today Brink is sober and in the best physical condition of his life.

“I do 40 to 50 miles of cardio a day between running and bicycling,” he told XBIZ. “I’m confident right now because I’m in shape.”

The 43-year-old Quinn, meanwhile, has become an underground internet sensation for his often outrageous video rants on Youtube. He has already posted a few Youtube videos specifically about his fight with Brink. One is titled “Aaron Brink is Going to Get Hurt.”

“I’ve got speed to burn homeboy,” he says in the clip. “I’m gonna be the fastest white heavyweight you’ve ever seen.”

A former pro boxer, Quinn also played college football in the late-80s for Notre Dame. He is 5-5-1 in professional MMA.

Brink (22-18-0-1), who grew up in Huntington Beach, Calif., fought in the UFC in 2000, losing to future heavyweight champ Andrei Arlovski. While he has not gotten back to the UFC, the fighter known as “The Pornographic Puncher” has competed regularly in established promotions such as King of the Cage, 2 Hot to Handle and the World Fighting Alliance in a colorful career that has spanned 12 years and more than 40 fights.

Both men are 6-foot-3 and will fight at the 205-pound limit on Aug. 20.
