Playboy TV’s ‘Canoga Park’ Debuts With Sneak Preview on Friday

LOS ANGELES — Attempting to give a boost to its revamped lineup, Playboy TV is debuting “Canoga Park,” which chronicles the misadventures of a down-on-his-luck adult film mogul and his crew at the fictional American Insertions studio.

Playboy’s Matt Kalinowski told XBIZ that the short-form program should give adult insiders a kick because it parodies real-life productions in Porn Valley.

“The show is perfectly crafted for the YouTube generation,” Kalinowski said. “It’s a funny, innovative show that appeals to the fans of shows like ‘The Office’ and ‘Entourage.’”

From the team that produced Playboy TV’s “Totally Busted,” the series features Andrea Lowell (VH1’s “The Surreal Life”, Playboy Radio, “Sexcetera”), Erika Jordan (“Totally Busted”) and guest star rocker C.C. DeVille (Poison, VH1’s “The Surreal Life”). The series is directed by Travis Draft.

The show also has a long list of cameo performances by porn stars, including Ron Jeremy, Roxy Jezel, Casey Parker, Jamie Hammer, Gianna Lynn, Sacha Rivera, Mikayla, Emillianna, Sasha Grey, Katarina Kat, Ava Rose, Andie Valentino, Melissa Jacobs, Brittney Skye, Daisy, Nadia Styles, Sunny Lane, Kaylani Lei, Michell Maylene, Kristen Price, Monica Mayhem, Nikki Benz, Samantha Ryan, Jamie Lynn, Avy Lee Roth, Nikki Cane, Luccia, Carmen Hart.

The new series is part of the Playboy Prime schedule, which runs from 8-11 p.m. The sneak preview is Friday, but the show officially begins Nov. 9.

Kalinowski said that Playboy has embraced the program with an official statement on the program: “‘Canoga Park’ does for premium television what ‘Boogie Nights’ did for film — give the viewer side-splitting joyride through the adult film world and an intimate look at the smokin’ hot characters who inhabit it.”

The season's 15 episodes already are in the can, Kalinowski said.

Canoga Park, Calif., is located in the epicenter of Los Angeles’ Porn Valley. The studios Anabolic, Diabolic, Elegant Angel, Mercenary Pictures and Zero Tolerance, among others, are located in Canoga Park.
