Stoya, Alec Helmy to Appear on ‘Ask the Doc’ Playboy Radio Show

LOS ANGELES — Superstar performer Stoya, the host of the 2016 XBIZ Awards presented by LiveJasmin, will be a special guest of the “Ask the Doc” show from 11 a.m. to noon this Friday on Playboy Radio.

Stoya will host the 2016 XBIZ Awards on Jan. 15 at the spectacular J.W. Marriott at L.A. Live. She plans to discuss the excitement surrounding the adult industry’s biggest night as well as her storied career with “Ask the Doc” hosts Sunny Rodgers and Chad Braverman.

Rodgers is the marketing manager for the pleasure products juggernaut, while Braverman is the creative director.

“I have always been a huge fan of Stoya's!” Rodgers said. “When I heard she had been chosen to be the host for the XBIZ Awards I knew she was the perfect choice. We are excited to speak with Stoya on our ‘Ask the Doc’ Playboy Radio show on Friday to find out all the details!”

Braverman was equally thrilled about Stoya’s first-ever appearance on the program.

“Stoya is amazing!” Braverman said. “Her beauty and poise make her the perfect host. Sunny and I are both looking forward to hearing more about her hosting duties and the upcoming XBIZ Awards.”

Stoya will be joined on the show by the president and publisher of XBIZ, Alec Helmy, who is already making preparations for the 14th annual red-carpet gala and will also be making his first appearance on the “Ask the Doc” show.

“I give Mr. Helmy all the respect he is due, and always have a blast when I run into the people from Doc Johnson socially, so I'm sure we'll have a great time tomorrow,” Stoya said.

As one of the elite performers of her generation, the 2009 XBIZ Best New Starlet has made a remarkable impact both inside and outside adult entertainment since her debut in 2007.

A native of North Carolina who now resides in New York, Stoya is also an established writer, influential industry advocate, producer/director and entrepreneur.

Her commentaries have been published in the New York Times, Esquire, Vice, New Statesman and Medium.com, among others.

This past January Stoya co-hosted the red-carpet arrivals for the 2015 XBIZ Awards with Steven St. Croix.

The premise behind “Ask The Doc” is to discuss all matters that involve “sex, sex toys, and beautiful people in this industry.”

Chad and Sunny also provide advice to callers every show — topics range from pleasure play to pegging to the perfect beginner toy.

“Ask the Doc” is recorded every Friday from 11 a.m. to noon PST at Playboy Radio in Burbank, Calif., and the podcasts afterwards can be found on PlayboySoundCloud and Doc Johnson's ‘Ask the Doc’ page.

The XBIZ Awards show is the most celebrated night of honors in adult, recognizing outstanding achievements across every facet of the multibillion-dollar business, including movie production, pleasure products, technology and retail.

Since its inception, household names from the world of erotica hosted the gala, including Jenna Jameson, Tera Patrick, Jesse Jane, Jessica Drake, Kayden Kross and James Deen.

Its worldwide reach has led to international media coverage from renowned outlets such as the Los Angeles Times, CNBC, TIME, Cosmopolitan, New York Magazine, Huffington Post and The Daily Beast, among others.

The XBIZ Awards will coincide with the industry’s trade events series of the year, XBIZ 2016, which annually features an unparalleled lineup of guest speakers and special events dedicated to exploring the future of the adult industry.
