Adam Film World Guide Announces Awards Winners

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Adam Film World Guide, a long-running adult film resource, announced the winners of its annual awards today. The organization’s in-house editorial staff, reviewers and contributors nationwide voted on the AFWG awards.

“After viewing this year’s crop of films, I believe this is the Golden Age for hardcore porn,” Anthony Petkovich, AFWG’s editor in chief told XBIZ. “Our awards ultimately come down to the sex, but there are some unbelievably advanced technical achievements as well.”

Co-produced by Adam & Eve and Digital Playground, “Pirates” nabbed top honors as Best Movie and Best Special Effects.

“Joone is a true filmmaker and artist and ‘Pirates’ is his vision,” Adella O’Neal, Digital Playground’s publicist told XBIZ. “We really wanted to push the limits with this film in terms of sets, costume, scripts and sex, and I think we did.”

Digital Playground, which now owns the trademark to Virtual Sex, also garnered an award for Best Interactive Title for “Virtual Sex with Teagan Presley.” Presley is a contract performer for DP.

“Virtual Sex is our star vehicle line,” O’Neal said. “We only shoot A-list adult stars for it and to have Teagan be a part of it, we knew this edition would be special.”

Smash Pictures was also the recipient of three awards from AFWG — all hitting different, hardcore niches. Smash captured trophies for Best Interracial (White Wife, Black Cock), MILF (Cheating Housewives) and Cream Pie (Planting Seeds).

“I'm quite pleased to have won Best Interracial Series. To stand out in that market we hired Bishop from ‘Family Business’ to direct,” Smash VP Stuart Wall told XBIZ. “I've always liked his humor and approach. 'Cheating Housewives' [also] has consistently great casts, which is one of the reasons it won an award. Our newest volume features Lisa Ann.”

Red Light District and Platinum X also had an impressive showing in the awards, taking home seven trophies. Among them were Best Blowjob Series for Brandon Iron’s “Baker’s Dozen,” Best P.O.V. Series for Mike John’s “P.O.V. Pervert” and Best Gonzo Movie going to Erik Everhard’s “Cum Filled Asshole Overload 2.”

Tim Von Swine, now under contract with Shane’s World, won Best Gonzo Director for his work with Platinum X. Manuel Ferrara captured Male Performer of the Year, while Penny Flame won Actress of the Year for her star turn in James Avalon’s “Darkside.”

“We at Red Light District and Platinum X are very proud of all our directors and performers, and congratulate all the above who won these outstanding awards for excellence,” Larry Schwarz, Red Light District/Platinum X’s P.R. Director told XBIZ. “We also very much appreciate the management and staff of Adam Film World Guide for these awards, their hard work and support for the entire adult industry.”

Several brands distributed by Pure Play Media received awards. Private’s “Robinson Crusoe On Sin Island” won Best Foreign Movie and Best Videography for Tony Del Duomo.

Suze Randall was given the Adam Film World Lifetime Achievement Award to honor her for her contributions to the adult industry for the last three decades. Other members of Pure Play to be awarded included Seymore Butts (Crossover Male Performer of the Year) and Cousin Stevie (Best All-Girl Series for the “Cousin Stevie’s Pussy Party” line.

Wicked Pictures took home the Best Comedy Or Parody and Best DVD Extras awards for "Camp Cuddly Pines Massacre" and Wicked contract performer Stormy Daniels won Mainstream Adult Media Star.

JM Productions was awarded Best On-Going Series for "Attention Whores" and Best Bukkake Series for "Lesbian Bukkake."

AFWG also gave out awards for the top performers. Manuel Ferrara won Male Performer of the Year, Zero Tolerance contract star Courtney Cummz won Female Performer of the Year and ClubJenna Girl McKenzie Lee, a protégé of Jenna Jameson, was named Contract Starlet of the Year.

“I’m so happy that Adam Film World voted me as performer of the year,” Cummz told XBIZ. “I love to fuck and I love to fuck on camera. It’s always nice to get recognized for something I truly love to do.”
