VAN NUYS, Calif. — Digital Playground jumped on Apple’s iPad frenzy yesterday announcing that all of its High Definition content is compatible with the new product.

The company has been a member of the Apple Developer program for the last decade and specifically an iPhone developer since its inception. All Digital Playground iproperties automatically sense whether or not the user is using an iPhone, iTouch, or iPad and customize the experience on the fly. “Digital Playground users who purchase an iPad will note the seamless integration between the desktop, laptop, iPhone and iPad, ” the company said.

Digital Playground video is shot exclusively on "RED" High Definition cameras. The company said that all videos and interactivity have been optimized for use on the iPad as well each device, including true HD streaming. Digital Playground offers this automatically on all company owned websites including digitalplayground.com and jessejane.com. iPad users will automatically get the HD experience while iPhone customers will get the standard definition videos optimized for that format.

“We use the true H.264 encoding platform. As the world leader of high definition productions, Digital Playground is poised to deliver the highest quality movies to all platforms including the iPad. ” Farley Cahen, vice president of new business development said. "Users can now enjoy the handheld experience by viewing on 10” screen where prior they were watching on a iPhone or iPod screen.”

In addition to the larger viewing format Cahen told XBIZ that the new iPad will benefit the adult industry for a number of reasons including price. "For a $1,000 for the product and $15 a month, users can have a new device to enjoy adult products. The larger tablet format is portable and the product contains more memory allowing larger amounts of content to be downloaded,” he said.

He added that the novelty of the iPad will also drive more users to the product. “The touch screen is another plus allowing for more interactivity. It’s like an iPhone on steroids. And we know that users are watching adult on those devices as we see traffic spikes from our available content, so we’re very optimistic that iPad will add to our success,” Cahen said.
