"It's going to be one living man a year from now on," Margold told XBIZ. "Tommy has worked with all these women, so he can tell stories about them, and I have gotten some letters that can be read about Damiano. Veronica Vera, Gloria Leonard, Annie Sprinkle, have all sent me remembrances about him. I'm expecting one from Jamie Gillis as well. There aren't that many people left who have worked with Damiano."
Performer Madison Young has volunteered to co-host the tribute to Damiano, Margold said. "I'm touched that one of the younger kids is paying homage to Damiano."
Margold told XBIZ that he plans to be very selective with Legends of Erotica honors.
"Legends of Erotica is going to be the cream of the crop from now on," Margold said. "Other halls of fame hand them out like jujubes. Less is more. In 16 years we've only put in 80 people. Next year the male inductee will be Peter North, if he isn't too shy to come."
The induction ceremony, which is a benefit for the Protecting Adult Welfare foundation, will take place Jan. 9 at Showgirls Video, 631 Las Vegas Blvd. S., in Las Vegas. It is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. Tickets will be available at the PAW booth at Adult Expo for $20 and at the door the night of the event for $25.
