2008 XBIZ Awards Website Launches; New Categories Featured

LOS ANGELES — The 2008 XBIZ Awards has launched its official website at XBIZAwards.com.

Once again anchoring the XBIZ Hollywood ’08 Industry Conference, the XBIZ Awards ceremony will take place Feb. 7 at The Highlands in Hollywood, Calif., and this year will break new ground by featuring an expanded list of award categories.

In addition to information about the 6th Annual XBIZ Awards, which has also earned industry-wide recognition as one of the grandest industry ceremonies of the year, the website features a complete list of the 2008 award categories, photos from last year’s event and, beginning Nov. 1, detailed information on how nominations can be submitted to XBIZ.

Also new this year, the XBIZ Awards process will feature a tripartite voting procedure. Members of the adult entertainment community will vote on one set of categories, XBIZ staff on another and industry organizations such a Women in Adult (WIA), the Free Speech Coalition (FSC) and the Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) will vote on the last.

The nominee submission period begins Nov. 1 and lasts until Dec. 31.

"With every successful event we kick things up a few notches for the following year, and that's exactly what we're doing with the 2008 XBIZ Awards and XBIZ Hollywood Conference," XBIZ President Alec Helmy said.

"What makes these two events so special is the great mix of attendees and how well the events complement one another,” Helmy added. “With our expanded list of award categories, upcoming surprise announcements and an even bigger audience, XBIZ guarantees that its upcoming shows will be the most spectacular ever."

The XBIZ Hollywood ’08 Industry Conference will be held Feb. 6-8 at the historic Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. Admission to the XBIZ Awards is included with conference registration.

Those interested in sponsorship opportunities for the 2008 XBIZ Awards and XBIZ Hollywood Conference can call Kristen Kaye at (310) 820-0228, ext. 702.
