ASACP to Attend Washington Mobile Net Conference

LOS ANGELES — The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection will be represented at a major Internet policy forum to be held in Washington on May 26.

Hosted by the Congressional Internet Caucus Advisory Committee (ICAC), the 3rd Annual State of the Mobile Net Conference will discuss how a vast ecosystem of technologies, content and applications come together to make the Internet more mobile.

According to the event's producers, the conference will include a diverse range of "fair and balanced viewpoints" in a forum that does not promote any particular policy position.

Conference sponsors include Comcast, Google, Microsoft and VeriSign, among others.

“For ASACP, attending events such as the State of the Mobile Net Conference is a vital part of our governmental outreach program,” ASACP interim director Tim Henning said.

He added, “These sessions are valuable venues to showcase the RTA for Mobile Apps solution that was developed by ASACP as a way for mobile content providers to help prevent children from accessing age-restricted material.”

Henning will be in Washington for three days, participating in a series of meetings in addition to the conference’s main events.

“ASACP’s participation is also a poignant way of demonstrating the adult entertainment industry’s commitment to proactive self-regulation, in an arena where lawmakers and decision-makers are reached,” Henning said.

He added, “These efforts are only possible through the industry’s generous financial support — through the sponsorships, memberships and donations from adult entertainment’s leading companies.”
