Christian Group Protests Outside Playboy Mansion

WESTWOOD, Calif. — Two dozen members of a Southern California Christian organization picketed outside the Playboy Mansion for more than three hours Saturday night.

The group, called Strike LA, said the picket was a “major prayer initiative” and was intended to disrupt Playboy’s 56th anniversary of its publication, according to its website.

The magazine, according to Strike LA, has promoted a culture of lust, sensuality, pornography and “all sorts of sexual perversion.”

Strike LA said it chose Saturday, Dec. 12, as an ideal to protest because 12 is “the number of perfection (governmental perfection).”

The group also asked its members to fast for 10 days before the Playboy Mansion picket.

Strike LA said it is trying to “tear down of the strongholds of sensuality that have been erected in these last 56 years and to cover the team that will be going on-site to do this strike.”

Past Strike LA events included ones at L.A.’s Koreatown (human trafficking), UCLA (education), Staples Center (sports), the federal building and courthouse (government and courts), and at the Kodak Theatre (Hollywood).

XBIZ calls to Strike LA’s founder, Jonathan Ngai, went unreturned at post time.
