CorbinFisher.com to Offer Models Health Care, 401(k) Plans, More
“The contributions our models make to the success of our company have always been tremendous,” CorbinFisher VP of Operations Brian Dunlap said. “We’ve long recognized that fact with high pay rates and substantial income-earning opportunities for our performers.”
But he said the website recently decided to expand on their existing payment scale. “We wanted to show how we cared for our valued performers and express our appreciation for all they do.”
“In this particular election year, there has been a great deal of attention paid to health care and how difficult it can be for employees to get it,” Dunlap told XBIZ. “That is what originally brought this plan to mind, and made us think of what a valuable offering it could be to our models. Many would not otherwise have health insurance were it not for our providing it.”
Dunlap said CorbinFisher takes a different approach from the “revolving door” of other pro/am sites that results in performers coming and going in quick succession with only a handful of scenes under their belt.
A further motivation behind offering a higher pay scale, and now full health coverage and other benefits, is to further establish a core set of performers “who become fixtures of the CorbinFisher brand,” Dunlap said.
“Our fans know us as a company that works with an ever-growing group of core models that they get to view, enjoy and watch develop and mature as men and performers over the course of several years,” he added.
He drew an analogy between the “prime stage” of an athlete’s career and the peak years of an adult performer in his physical and sexual prime. “As with athletes, the simple fact of the matter is that there is a ‘prime stage’ during which we can work with our models the most, and when they can earn the most. Once someone has passed that prime, things can change.”
He said CorbinFisher generally concentrates on men aged 18-23.
“When they fall within that age range, we want to do our utmost to offer them benefits that will last them their entire lives, even after they have ceased working with us.”
The 401(k) plan is also intended to aid performers long after they may have left their erotic careers behind. “This will enable the models to benefit from the considerable amounts of money they earn with us today, decades down the line.”
The tuition reimbursement program is intended to “reward models already enrolled in school, and encourage those that are not to pursue graduate and post-graduate educations, while motivating all of them to perform well academically.”
Dunlap said many of their models are “true amateur performers” who show up to film a few vignettes and then go back to pay for school with the money they earn.
Any exclusive CorbinFisher model actively enrolled in an accredited institution will be reimbursed a base percentage of their tuition, with the opportunity for higher reimbursement based on academic performance.
A performer achieving all A’s could potentially have all of his tuition covered by CorbinFisher, Dunlap said.
There are roughly two dozen performers currently enrolled in the new coverage plan.
CorbinFisher.com was formed in 2003 and their membership-driven flagship website was launched one year later. They produce solo videos and male-male content for the gay market, as well as bisexual and heterosexual content that spotlights the male performers.
Additional websites under the company umbrella include AmateurCollegeMen.com and AmateurCollegeSex.com, as well as ShopCorbinFisher.com offering DVDs, photobooks, calendars and other branded items.
The company is based in San Diego, California and employs more than a dozen full-time, salaried employees.
