Pre-Nominations Open for 2013 XBIZ Awards

LOS ANGELES — XBIZ is pleased to announce that pre-nominations begin today for the industry awards event of the year, the 2013 XBIZ Awards to be held on Jan. 11, 2013, in Los Angeles.

Pre-nominations are being accepted industry-wide for more than 150 different awards categories covering all areas of Movies & Production, Pleasure Products, Web & Technology and Retail & Distribution.

To submit pre-nominations in any of the awards categories, industry professionals must be registered members of the XBIZ.net social network and use the online submission form to record their entries. The deadline for all 2013 XBIZ Awards pre-nominations is midnight on Oct. 14.

In order to be eligible for consideration for a 2013 XBIZ Award, movie and pleasure products must be released between Oct. 22, 2011, and Oct. 14, 2012.

In the Movies & Production field, for the first time in XBIZ Awards history, honors will be bestowed for outstanding performances in individual scenes. The new categories that will recognize performers include Best Scene - Feature Movie, Best Scene - Parody Release, Best Scene - Gonzo/Non-Feature Release, Best Scene - Vignette Release, Best Scene - Couples-Themed Release and Best Scene - All-Girl.

In addition, XBIZ will honor additional acting performances in 2013 by dividing those categories into three different movie genres — Feature, Parody and Couples-Themed. The new categories are: Best Actress - Feature Movie and Best Actor - Feature Movie; Best Actress - Parody Release and Best Actor - Parody Release; and Best Actress - Couples-Themed Release and Best Actor - Couples-Themed Release.

In recognizing the top emerging studio brands in the marketplace, XBIZ will introduce award categories for New Line of the Year and New Studio of the Year. An award for European Director of the Year is also new for 2013.

In the Web & Tech field, the new categories include Erotic Photography Site of the Year, Erotic Movie Site of the Year and Mobile Affiliate Program of the Year.

In the Pleasure Products field, new award categories include Powered Pleasure Product of the Year, Couples Pleasure Product of the Year, Progressive Pleasure Products Company of the Year and Discreet Pleasure Product of the Year. In addition, awards will be given for the first time to the Gay/Lesbian Pleasure Product Brand of the Year, Lingerie Collection of the Year, Sexual Wellness Product of the Year, Sexual Enhancement Product of the Year – Dietary, Sexual Enhancement Product of the Year – Topical, Soft Bondage Line of the Year, Boutique Pleasure Products Company of the Year and Adult Game/Bachelorette Product of the Year.

In the Retail & Distribution field, several new award categories have been added, including Online Retailer of the Year - Full Range, Online Retailer of the Year - Pleasure Products and Online Retailer of the Year – Specialty. New awards are also in order for the Distributor/Wholesaler of the Year - Full Range, Distributor/Wholesaler of the Year - Pleasure Products, Distributor/Wholesaler of the Year – Specialty and International Distributor/Wholesaler of the Year.

The 11th annual XBIZ Awards, hosted by adult film superstar Tera Patrick, will cap off an unprecedented series of six grand-slam industry events dubbed XBIZ 360°, which gets underway on Jan. 9 in L.A.
