Buckshot Exclusive Danny Roddick Dies

SAN FRANCISCO — COLT Studio Group/Buckshot exclusive model Danny Roddick passed away on Sept 13. Cause of death has not been disclosed. Roddick had appeared in several Buckshot titles including “Brotherhood” and “Boot Black Blues.”

“We are devastated and saddened by this tragedy,” COLT President and Creative Director John Rutherford said. “We have watched Danny grow up and everyone here at COLT Studio Group extends our most heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and loved ones. He will be missed.”

Roddick, who was considered a rising star in the gay adult industry, appeared as a trophy boy at the Grabby Awards in May.

Roddick also had recently starred in AMG Brasil’s big-budget feature “Amazônia: Capture” and “Amazônia: Release.” The double-disc movie, shot in the rainforests of Brazil, featured Roddick with a cast of local performers. An online promotional contest for the movie showed the performer in photo stills from the production, with his face blurred out so contestants could guess his identity, with winners awarded various prizes.

“I had the pleasure of working with Danny recently and will miss him greatly,” Athletic Model Guild/AMG Brasil president Dennis Bell said.

In his most recent Buckshot release “Brotherhood,” Roddick worked with director Jerry Douglas.

“The loss of anyone so young and talented, and especially a sweet and fragile individual, is heartbreaking — but for someone who was rapidly approaching the peak of his career it is doubly painful,” Douglas said.

Director Kristofer Weston also worked with Roddick on several productions including “Hard Studies,” “Big Rig: Extended Cab Edition” and Olympus’ “Hostile.”

“He was one of the most caring and sensitive people I’ve ever had the privilege of working with on set,” Weston said. “A truly beautiful man inside and out and I’m honored to have called him a friend.”
