English County Council Shuts Down Municipal Website Because of XXX Link

LONDON — A county council in southern England has shut down a website that doled out advice for healthy living because someone added a link to an adult website.

The Worcestershire County Council runs the site, which is called Healthy Eating Forum. They originally intended the site to be an open, unmonitored forum, but that idea didn't last long.

According to Councillor Stephen Clee, "immature and childish individuals" decided to vandalize the forum. He and his colleagues pledged to keep a closer eye on the forum in the future.

"If and when the forum reopens, we will have to ensure a different regime is in place to protect users of the facility, and thwart those intent on mischief," he said. "What is upsetting is not just the stupidity of these people who want to violate our pages, it is the fact that they could put off residents and children from using the Internet to access information they need to know or taking part in debates that could improve services."

This isn't the first time that the adult industry has drawn the ire of English resident. It's not even the first time this week. In Bradley Stoke, England, resident James Edwards has attracted demonstrators outside his four-bedroom home, which he uses as a makeshift adult studio.

Edwards maintains that he's not disturbing the peace.

"When you look at the house, you can't actually see that there's anything going on," he said. "All right, there are girls visiting and there are camera people coming in and out but they are all clothed when they come out."
