Wicked Streets Horror Feature 'The Wicked' on Sept. 29

LOS ANGELES — Wicked Pictures is set to release a new adult horror movie in the vein of "Hostel" and "Saw" called "The Wicked."

Directed by Michael Raven, "The Wicked" will street on Sept. 29.

Wicked is planning a lavish, two-disk release of the title, which they're calling a "a stylish erotic horror tale." It features Wicked contract performers Kaylani Lei, Stormy Daniels and Mikayla Mendez.

Raven previous credits include "Black Widow" and "The Visitors." The director said that he'd pitched his latest effort as a sensual meditation on the horror movie mythos.

"I had wanted to do something similar to 'The Visitors,' but larger in scope," he said. "And I believe we've accomplished that. It's a bigger production and more entertaining overall. For me, the characterizations run deeper, which makes you really care about what happens to these people."

To that end, Raven teamed up with previous collaborator Jennifer Allison on a 60-page screenplay that follows Kaylani Lei's character on a desert road trip that goes awry with the intervention of some nefarious supernatural creatures.

Lei raved about the project.

"I am absolutely ecstatic about how this movie has turned out," she said. "From the cast to the crew, everyone pulled together and did an amazing job. The cast is just incredible. They used tremendous creativity to flesh out their characters. I'm really proud of what we've accomplished."

In the spirit of "fleshing out" characters, Raven hyped the special effects in his new movie. If his promises play out, Raven's movie may enter the same pantheon as "Scanners" and "Chopping Mall."

"There is some fine make-up work in the movie, both in terms of creature make-ups and some judicious use of splatter effects," he said. "You'll get to see some interesting, intricately made-up creatures and some pretty convincing exploding heads."

The rest of the cast includes Tori Black, Sophia Santi, Roxy Deville, Annabelle Lee, Scarlett Fay, Barrett Blade, Voodoo, Derrick Pierce, Evan Stone, Johnny Castle and Barry Scott.

A softcore teaser for the movie is currently playing at WickedPictures.com.
