Pacific Sun Signs Distro Deal With Jamie Hendrix

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. —Pacific Sun Entertainment has signed G&G Media to an exclusive distribution deal. The boutique studio was founded by veteran performer-director Jamie Hendrix.

Hendrix said PacSun’s focus on video-on-demand and broadcast distribution, such as pay-per-view, sealed the deal.

The first title to be released under the new contract is “Friendly Force,” a police-themed film featuring newcomer Chad Clovis with Kevin Cavalli, Brodie Newport, Dominik Rider and Ryan Thompson.

The film streets later this month and is available now via PacSun’s website.

“At a time when the world of XXX and especially the Internet is flooded with inferior material from every fool who can barely hold a camera, I am thrilled to bring Jamie Hendrix back into the fold,” said Michael LaBarbera, head of marketing and production for PacSun.

As the demand for content increases in the video-on-demand era of adult, LaBarbera described “a need for real dialogue, competent acting and plot-driven movies” that can also be edited to fit niches such as softcore erotica.

He said Hendrix excels in delivering such product.

“I personally hope that the future brings a return to some of the production values that we enjoyed in the ‘70s and ‘80s,” he said, “when there were real stars and a gay porn movie was more than a mindless, mechanical, amateur ‘suck-and-fuck’.”

Hendrix originally left erotica in 2000 to pursue a production career in mainstream entertainment, both in the U.S. and Australia.

As a performer, he appeared in such classic titles as Falcon Studios’ “Cruisin’ 2: More Men on the Make” (1992) and Catalina Video’s “Object of Desire” (1990) in a career that stretches back to 1988. Behind the camera, Hendrix helmed such titles as “Powerdriver” (HIS Video, 1994), “Knight Heat” (HIS, 1994) and “The Boy from Berlin” (All Worlds Video, 1995).
