Jury Watches Adult Videos in After Hours Case

STAUNTON, Va. — The four men and three women on the jury in the After Hours obscenity trial sat down and watched the two adult videos in question today.

The Staunton jury watched “Sugar Bitches” and “City Girls Extreme Gangbangs” for three hours and 33 minutes — the entirety of the two films — and was excused at approximately 4:25 p.m. local time for a recess.

A guilty verdict would require the jury to find that the videos sold by Rick Krial, the owner of After Hours Video and Tinsley Embry, an employee, fit the definition of obscenity in Virginia. The definition states that the videos must include shameful sex acts as their dominant theme, have no artistic value and be offensive to the average adult in Staunton.

The jury watched the tapes today after being excused three times in less than three hours yesterday while attorneys argued legal points. The trial was then halted until this morning in the middle of another objection.

The trial is expected to last until the end of the week.
