The story, published yesterday on the paper’s website, is the highest profile exposure the Wigan, England-native Jayne has received from her hometown press across the pond.
The article chronicles Jayne’s metamorphosis “From Wigan church girl to Hollywood porn star.” She said she was religious growing up, going to church every Sunday until her early teens. After leaving college after three months, Jayne worked at a couple jobs before being discovered by an agent at a modeling gig at an adult convention.
"I went to college but I found it boring.I was always a sporty chick, a bit of a tomboy who liked going out with my friends and getting trashed,” Jayne told News of the World. "I was modeling these really classy evening gowns at a show and saw these DVDs. I just thought, ‘I could be on the front of those.’”
Jayne’s first (and so for only) adult movie was Harmony Films’ “The Initiation of Nikki Jayne.” Since signing with Vivid Entertainment in June, Jayne has shot a few as-yet-unreleased movies for the company.
"The first scene I did was in front of 50 people and I actually found it quite liberating,” she said. “I thought if I could do that, I could do anything.”
Aware of her obvious sex appeal, Jayne isn’t shy to share why she thinks her star is on the rise.
"I love it in L.A.,” she told the British tabloid. “People keep stopping me in the street and asking if I'm a film star, and I tell them, 'Well, kind of.' I'm 5-foot-10, which is tall for a porn star, blonde, British and new to the industry. I guess I was just the package they were looking for.”
The Rupert Murdoch’-owned, 165-year-old celebrity gossip newspaper is notorious for covering stories with a sexual slant. Nicknamed “Sex ‘n’ Scandal weekly,” “News of the Screws” and “Screws of the World,” the tabloid consistently averages close to three and a half million copies sold per week.
Jayne was crowned Miss XBIZ Summer 2008 at the XBIZ Summer Forum held at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas last month.
Jayne also filmed a short video clip for the newspaper where she talks about her career as an adult performer.
