Private, Dorcel in Euro Distro Deal

BARCELONA — Marc Dorcel has signed an exclusive three-year DVD distribution deal with Private Media Group, the studios jointly announced today.

Marc Dorcel recently released “Katsuni: My Fucking Life,” starring Digital Playground contract star Katsuni, and produces content for all genres including gay.

The partnership also may eventually include VOD/IPTV in Europe. According to Private, by combining two dominant adult brands, both with large content catalogs, the partnership will create a “one-stop shop” for content needs over a wide variety of delivery platforms.

“Private and Dorcel are the two dominant adult brands in Europe, and this new collaboration will solidify their strength in the market and provide French consumers optimal access to high quality adult entertainment with compelling new incentives and exciting promotions,” Private COO Peter Cohen said.

“Marc Dorcel is one of the best run operations in the adult business,” Cohen added, “and we are very pleased to have worked out a very cooperative relationship with them to strategically consolidate our content offerings and develop effective new B2B and B2C opportunities that will expand our collective successes in France.”

The deal apparently took 18 months to develop and is part of strategic plan to consolidate content and form cooperative relationships with other distributors and producers.

“We believe that the strategic alliance of major studios like Private and Marc Dorcel is the right approach for long term growth and success in what has become a cluttered adult marketplace,” Marc Dorcel CEO Grégory Dorcel said. “By joining forces and sharing experiences and know-how we will effectively offer the French audience top of the range products with compelling new marketing and promotional campaigns.”
