Just In Case Partners with YouthAIDS

LOS ANGELES — Mother-daughter team Marsha Bartenetti and Rachael Sudul, creators of condom compact Just in Case, have announced a partnership with the YouthAIDS organization in the effort to raise awareness and money toward treatment and prevention of AIDS.

The two-year-old company has designated its RendezVous Red compact, which comes with a mirror and hidden compartment to hold condoms, as the official item representing their partnership with YouthAIDS. Ten percent of every sale of the RendezVous Red compact will go directly to YouthAIDS.

YouthAIDS, an HIV/AIDS education and prevention initiative of the global health organization PSI, targets at-risk youth between 15-24.

“We believe it’s time to empower women to look after themselves when it comes to sexual health by providing a beautiful way for them to do so,” said Bartenetti. “Our Just in Case compacts are a great solution for any embarrassment that may come with carrying condoms. The compacts are the must-have accessory for any sexually active women to have with her in her purse. And now customers can give themselves the gift of protection —while giving back to YouthAIDS.”

“Let’s face it, there is an elephant in the room and it’s name is cndom. With 1 in 4 teenage girls infected by an STD [according to the Center for Communicable Dieseases], we need to address the fact that our girls, young women are in trouble and no one is talking to them. Using a condom just might save a life,” said Sudul.

Every 15 seconds, another young person becomes infected with HIV. Nearly 12 million people between 15-24 are HIV-positive and most don’t know they are infected, according to the CDC.

“Partnering with YouthAIDS is a huge honor for us. We are committed to raising as much money as possible for this very important cause,” Bartenetti said.

The RendezVous Red Just in Case compact is available at JustinCase.com and at YouthAIDS.org under the Shop for a Cause link.
