Lucas Signs Euro Distro With Bruno Gmunder

NEW YORK — Gay production company Lucas Entertainment has signed an exclusive deal with European distributor Bruno Gmunder for production of high-end books, a calendar, magazine publications and exclusive DVD distribution in several European countries.

“I am proud to be working with a distributor that carries a long history of quality and greatness in all its products, and the only European distributor that does not distribute bareback films,” Lucas Entertainment CEO and founder Michael Lucas said.

“Everyone at Lucas Entertainment is looking forward to gaining increased positioning in the European market and building a stronger relationship with these customers,” Lucas added.

The deal includes publication of a glossy, high-end book based on a fashion magazine format that will feature photography inspired by Lucas’ blockbuster releases.

“We are working on the book, tentatively titled ‘Michael Lucas' Gigolo,’ Lucas told XBIZ. “It's very different from any project they've ever done. It's going to be modeled after a fashion magazine, in a Vogue/Cosmopolitan magazine style. Bruno Gmunder was so impressed and fascinated by the quality of our photography and our models, it inspired this great idea.”

The book will be available in Europe and is scheduled for U.S. release in October.

The company will begin European distribution of Lucas’ titles with “Ray Star Bottoms: Auditions 24.” Gmunder will distribute to all areas of Europe except for Great Britain and Ireland, where Lucas has a separate deal.

Gmunder also will publish the Lucas Entertainment 2009 calendar, which will be available in the U.S. in August.

“We are proud to have Lucas Entertainment on board. We share the same vision of quality and see a perfect partner in Michael Lucas,” Gmunder CEO Michael Taubenheim said.
