Tony Dimarco Joins Raging Stallion Studios

SAN FRANCISCO — Raging Stallion Studios announced that writer-director Tony Dimarco has accepted a full-time, high-level position as a staff director at the company's main office.

Dimarco, winner of numerous awards including this years XBIZ Award for GLBT Director of the Year, begins work at Raging Stallion effective immediately. His first project will be shot in the coming weeks.

Dimarco will be relocating to the Bay Area and views this move as the beginning of a new chapter in his career.

“I’m very excited to join Raging Stallion Studios." Dimarco said. "I’ve been a great admirer of their work for many years and am very excited about the prospect of working with them. They are at the top of their game, and I’m at the top of mine; I think this is the beginning of an exceptional relationship. The quality of their filmmaking is top notch, and I’m honored to be a part of the team."

Dimarco joins Raging Stallion at a time when the studio is on a roll, having recently won accolades for “Grunts” at all of the major awards shows.

For the short time that Dimarco has been in the business, he has certainly made his mark. Winning the coveted Best Picture category two years in a row at the GAVYN awards (for Lucas Entertainment’s “Dangerous Liaisons” and “Michael Lucas’ La Dolce Vita”), he has proven to be one of the finest new filmmakers in the business. “La Dolce Vita,” won an unprecedented 14 GAYVN Awards at the 2007 show — Dimarco received six individual awards that night.

Born and raised in the tristate area, Tony graduated from New York’s School of Visual Art with a BFA in Graphic Design then went on to have a successful career as an art director at a major record label for 13 years before venturing into adult films.

This year he tried his hand at comedy with "The Intern," which received critical acclaim and won several awards. He left Lucas Entertainment in August to expand his talents and work with new people.

"Tony is a great guy and a very talented filmmaker,” Raging Stallion President Chris Ward said. “I was very excited when Tony became available — it is rather rare in our small industry when both a position and a person capable of filling it are concurrently open. The recent retirement of Michael Brandon left vacant a top-level job — who better than Tony Dimarco to step in?

“We have huge plans ahead as we build upon our past successes,” he continued. “Right now Tony, Ben Leon and I are developing a “Grunts”-scale cowboy movie to be shot this summer in New Mexico. With Tony, Ben, JD Slater, David Hempling, Jake Deckard and yours truly, we have the best directing team in the industry.”
